Film Box Office "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" bercerita tentang sebuah buku yang awalnya dimiliki oleh Harry Potter dan ditulis ulang oleh seorang ahli sihir Newt Scamander. Akan terdapat 85 jenis sihir di dalam buku ini, dan ternyata sihir tersebut telah tersebar ke seluruh dunia. Salah seorang mengumpulkan beberapa informasi dengan meneliti selama bertahun tahun dan mengarungi 5 benua serta menghabisi setengah umurnya.,
Buku Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them menjadi pedoman bagi para siswa baru di sekolah Harry Potter. Meskipun mereka belum mempelajari isi buku tersebut, karena pada awal pelajaran mereka belum dipengaruhi oleh makhluk makhluk halus. Pada tahun ketiga mereka mempelajari isi buku tersebut.
Salah satu orang bernama Scamander menjadi orang yang jago sihir karena ketertarikannya terhadap banyak hal yang luar biasa. Termasuk dorongan oleh ibunya. Sampai di sekolah Hgowarts ia diberi tempat tinggal di rumah Hufflepuff.
